Jefferson Matters: Main Street is planning a pair of events — one for all area residents, and one primarily for businesses.
Jefferson Matters is coordinating a yard sale on the courthouse lawn Saturday, July 11, from 7:30 am to noon. Vendors and direct sales reps are welcome, along with anyone who has items for sale at yard sale prices. There is no charge to participate, but sellers should plan to bring their own tables and chairs, and no tents or canopies will be allowed.
The numbers of spaces available is limited to the size of the courthouse lawn, so sellers are encouraged to register early. All registrations must be submitted by next Wednesday, July 8, at 5 pm.
A registration form is available on the Jefferson Matters: Main Street Facebook page, or at the Jefferson Matters office at 110 W. Lincoln Way, the Jefferson public library, or Homestead Bakery. The form should be returned to the office or emailed to the address on the form.
The second event, a Social Media Social, will help businesses who want to take better advantage of social media in their marketing plans. The Social Media Social is slated for Monday, July 13, at 5:30 pm at Jefferson Telecom.
The evening will begin with an overview, and then attendees will be able to meet with any of five tech savvy college students who can unlock the mysteries of Facebook, TripAdvisor and Yelp. A Jefferson Telecom representative will be on hand to talk about wifi in businesses.l
An RSVP to the Jefferson Matters office, 515-386-3585 will be appreciated but not required.
